THAT BURNING RING OF FIRE to quote JOHNNY CASH.
My dear ladies and occasional gentleman it is our ANNUAL AUTUMN SHOW on Saturday and here I am
making a POM-POM for a hat to be entered into class 74.
I have made the POM-POM the old fashioned way with two pieces of cardboard cut into a ring donut shape. Wind the yarn round and round until it is covered and plump, then cut around between the two pieces, tie a piece of wool tightly between cardboard rings until secure, then slide off the cardboard and VOILA a POM-POM.
This is the finished hat.
Ronald is not amused at the millions of orange fibers scattered over the sitting room as if I had fired the POM-POM out of a SHOTGUN!
Yours Fiberly
Celia
I love it! I think I will have to copy you and make one for myself. Jaunty

That yarn looks rather familiar! I have some lovely matching fingerless mits, if you would like to enter the whole ensemble…

How kind of you but you have no idea how strict these affairs are. In section 3 you are allowed one entry per class and class 74 is ‘Hat – knitted or crochet’.
You are not allowed to submit an ensemble delightful as that may be. There are other classes in this section the only one which may apply is class 76 Knitted garment. I expect if I submitted fingerless mitts they would say “a garment is a piece of clothing i.e. Cardigan”
What do you think Kipps? Dare I submit mitts?

Thank you kind lady, I will be entering a few classes. At the risk of boring my dear readers I may share my other entries.
